If I had a choice, I'd totally want to paint it something fresh-- crisp white-- and punch it up with some fun hip shades, like robin's egg or lime or something less... beige. But my condition for painting the room involved using one of the many reject gallons we'd accumulated in the basement-- all of which were pretty much variances on the same shade of... blech.
Did I mention that right now, I'm into white? White rooms with crisp fun colors. I think it's my attempt at combatting my google-diagnosed Seasonal Affective Disorder. Meaning I'm so depressed of the sky being grey and my rooms being beige. Unfortunately the basement didn't hold a gallon of crisp perfect white, complete with colorful pillows, lampshades and interesting artwork. So beige it was.
I'm going to paint the trim a nice white and hope for the best with accent colors. Of course, I already starting formulating what I wanted for window hangings- fun curtains with an offbeat but totally adorable pattern-- ideally seeming like I got them at Anthropologie, but spent hundreds less at Target.
Wanting the whole thing done *today* (what? i'm optimistic...), I traipsed through evil bits of spitting sleet-hail to HomeGoods (who would have guessed, they don't sell window coverings), JoAnns (might be more $ to make my own??), Bed Bath & Beyond (snoozegrammacurtains), and Target. I was carrying around this for awhile, but ended up putting it down.
Blech-- I hate when I know *what* I want and can't find it anyplace besides the one place I shouldn't buy it: Anthropologie. I despise that they know what I want before I even know it exists. Literally--- I go to their website and instantly, there are at least five gorgeous options, each fulfilling the little need for color or an offbeat, but totally cool pattern. Then I go to Target's website, just hoping it would open up hundreds of other cool non-store possibilities. Um, no.
SO yeah, I guess maybe I'll trek back to Joann's to see what I can come up with. Making curtains is about the extent of my sewing abilities, and I actually think I'll use these little clips on the rod, which will make everything easier, anyway.
So... the hamburger diet continues. I'll let you know what I find, including photos!
