Tonight was my last training session, and before it, I decided to hop on the treadmill and get the dreaded 20-30 minutes of cardio done *before* the weights this time.
I'll have you know, which is the milestone I'm reporting on tonight: I ran probably the easiest mile that I've ran in my life. Ever. Except for when I was 11 and ran a mile in 7 minutes 45 seconds.
Except for then, it was probably my best. I started tropping forward at 5.5 MPH and realized... MAN... I can totally go faster than this! I cranked it up to 6, 7... and I finally started running at a pace that felt natural (and mind you... 5.5 always was my 'natural'.) I finished that sucker in just under 9 minutes. AND Yeah, I sprinted at the end, just like they tell you to in grade school.
I definitely would have made Presidential for my age bracket. Except for the Pull-ups. I could never do those...
Aw, pull-ups were the worst! We had to do the flexed arm hang or something like that where you just hung there as long as you could with the bar under your chin. Only boys did the pull-ups. --the super worst for me was the toe touch thing where they measured how flexible you were....I am NOT flexible and always did poorly.
