weekend recap...

So, not that I like crappy weather, but I especially enjoy when the week is one of those mid-fifties, gray, dismal kind of weeks, that turn into bright sunshiny Saturday mornings that don't stop until Sunday night. That kind of weekend is the absolute perfect reward for trudging through the Monday-Friday...

I love those first few weekends in late Spring when it's just warm enough that you can do yard work or wash the car in a tank top.... and almost... *almost*... see that you got some sun.

This weekend flew by faster than usual-- Jed left early today for a business trip in New York, so the whole weekend was trying to prepare for that, all while not 'trying' to prepare for it... in hopes of prolonging the weekend as much as possible. Yeah... didn't work so much. He's gone now, and I'm looking forward to Monday evening when he'll be back. This is a short trip, and I know that some people live like this all the time, but it's insanely disruptive for me. I don't know what's happening, I'm not sure what to do... Should I make dinner... well... it is just me. Should I start cleaning out the patio... hm... maybe I'll just wait until he gets back? Watch that movie...? maybe he wants to watch it? I've turned into a hopeless half of a twosome.

Maybe the only shred of effectiveness I have as a single: shopping. I hit up H&M today for some sprucing of the wardrobe. Looking at my clothes options as of late has been really abysmal: 4+ year old dress pants, dingy white shirts washed in our terrible lime water, that sweater I like with the tiny ink stain that *probably* no one sees... YIKES.

I used to drop $ like crazy on clothes back in the day. Shopping trips every other weekend for a little something... Yeah... not so much now.

I picked up a few basics, but I think I really need to work on accessorizing and polishing. I work under a manager who is flawless in appearance daily, so it'll be challenging... er... inspiring.

Sometimes I feel so *plain* sometimes, so my attempts to combat this include:

  • Crest Advanced teeth whitening trays: 1x per day for 7 days
  • Jergens self tanning lotion: start immediately for dewy sun-kissed skin
  • Hair voluminization: John Frieda Hair Blast mousse purchased: start using immediately
  • Sexy Tall Black heels: need to purchase stat
  • Cute pencil skirt complete with tight butt: start working on/purchase soon
  • Sarcastic attitude and condescending glances: COVERED!
Happy Monday! Hope this week... and the weekend after... are gloriously sunny wherever you are!

  1. Having a hard time adjusting back to being just you, eh?

I'm sure Jed would LOVE for you to clean the patio--then he doesn't have to! Kind of a welcome-home-look-what-I-did-for-you gift :O)

PS- really love the new masthead!
