waiting... for guests.

We're expecting friends to come stay with us tonight, and in the meantime, we're running around with cans of paint for touch-ups, a swiffer to catch any extra floor-dust, and of course, vases of cut lilacs to spruce the house up.

To kill some time, I wanted to post a pic and mention the most delectable homemade salad I have *ever* made. It was inspired by my two of my favorite salads: the Farmhouse at McNally's and the Kilbane Cobb at the Claddagh.

So here is my very own McKee Street Chef Salad, including boiled beets (not out of the can!), hardboiled eggs, baby greens, sliced turkey, tomatoes and mushrooms, finished with a homemade balsamic dressing. YUM...
