Instantaneously, I thought-- could she have Lyme disease? And then I did what anyone would do and promptly forgot the thought...UM NO... I hopped on the internet and voraciously ate up every possible webpage on lyme disease that existed.
And *then* I promptly decided after hours of internet research, she probably didn't have it; and statistically speaking, things were on our side.
Fast foward to today....
When my poor dog was hobbling off the couch to see me after work, and I noticed a definite difficulty to get around. Um... Arthritis? Issues with her kneecaps, years after the surgeries? I just had this sneaking suspicion...
LYME DISEASE.
I mean, we've had dog-hobbling-around issues in the past-- cramps and sprains from over-extending the ball-playing efforts. We've gone to the emergency vet. We've paid the exorbitant fees. I told Jed to call the vet and see if we could set up something for tomorrow, fully meaning to cancel when it all passed overnight. Except they said we could get in tonight before 6.
And guess what...?
She has LYME DISEASE!!! The POOR THING! I feel awful-- wasn't there some shot or collar or thing I could have squirted on her back?
But either way, we have 20-days of antibiotics to take, and she's resting comfortably on the heating blanket, which Darby is eyeing jealously.
My poor baby! Give her
ReplyDeletea smooch from me.
Mom
Aw Popster! I'm glad she'll make a full recovery and be ready to play ball when the warm weather arrives!
