Sugar Plums Dancing...

We have had, almost hands down, the most Christmas-y weekend possible. Friday was Christmas shopping in the snow and wrapping presents. Saturday was heading up to the city for the Welcome Yule concert at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, followed by our annual walk through the Christkindlmarket and decadent dinner at Italian Village.

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning and the most beautiful frost on the window, and we lit the advent candles at Church today.

It was also the Cantata service... (I know-- picture sleepy Christmas services with obscure carols and dusty robes...)

This service had the full chancel choir, bell choir, brass, and the chamber orchestra from the high school. There were poinsettias everywhere, wreaths with hurricanes mounted up over the aisles, and the most beautiful real tree I've ever seen... it had to be at least 20 feet tall.

Now, onto baking Peanut Brittle... I'm giving it a go!

Keep warm!
Inside a gallery in Orchestra Hall. Can't you just imagine someone in an 18th century Ballgown around the bend?
Who doesn't love a bell choir? This one was unbelievable.

Sipping Gluwein... third year in a row!

And the most beautiful frost on our window pane!
