Second.

It's a snowy, waiting-around-for-stuff kind of day. Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary, and while I would have loved to wake up to breakfast in bed, fresh flowers and warm slippers... we were yanked out of bed with the realization that we didn't hear the alarm at all. Dude...it was 7:18....

I lept straight from the bed into the shower, did the fastest shaving job in the world (can't go without it... neurotic!) and singlehandedly blew dry my hair while putting on makeup. My 5-minute attempt to straighten my swoopy bangs was completely futile-- while rushing out to the car, thousands of snowflakes were magnetically drawn to my head, complely negating any attemps at beautification... I was frizzy and harried... but by god, I was still the first to arrive at work. Hmm... perhaps time to have a little convo about tardiness with my staff...?

ANYHOO...all day I've been waiting for the Anniversary Celebration. It's nothing big-- we'll just do dinner somewhere and toast some champagne in our wedding flutes. I hauled up the old unity candle, so maybe we can light that too. I've been trying to come up with little traditions we can do each year so we don't seem like the hapless couple with NOTHING to do around the holidays besides be swept up by our parents' plans and whims. So far, we've managed to get down to Chicago for the Christkindlmarket each year, which is a fantastic way to remember our VERY FIRST Christmas together in Munich, four years ago already. That seems so long ago-- four years... We really must find a way to get back...

Happy Anniversary... to many more...
