I feel more sane already.
Now down to business... seriously, did that weekend not fly by? I was pretty darn productive, I'd say. However, it's the kind of productive that you don't really have anything immediate to show for it... except for that dandy new banner up top. I've been spending the bulk of today trying to teach myself photoshop, and that's what I muddled up today. I'm still a beginner, here...
Other weekend highlights...
-I started making soap. The first batch is simple-- olive and coconut oil... it will be scentless and colorless, but if it doesn't burn off my skin (hope the lye mixture was correct), I'll be happy. Then on to more exciting soapmaking ventures. Below is the little box mold we made... it'll yield about 5 bars.
-Saturday we pre-ordered an Alsatian Riesling kit for our next winemaking endeavor, as well as put our names on the "cherry list" to reserve our batch of fresh Michigan cherries during the brewshop's annual trek up North. We tasted some of their cherry wine, and it was ridiculously drinkable.
-More dogpark fun, in the freezing cold.. Except there were less dogs and snow flurries, so we didn't stay long.
-And then, we enjoyed a nice little Italian evening, complete with the gorgeous rosemary I rescued from our gardenboxes, Italian Kale Soup, and... Blu Italy lemon water...
Four day week this week for me!...
aww... it's weekends like these that I wish I was closer. Sounds like you had a lot of creative fun.
ReplyDeleteHey, I received this creative blogger award from a friend and get to pass it on. So, if you want to do it, just check out my blog and follow the rules. It's kinda fun :)
