These days it's pretty much dogs, work, dogs, swiffer the floors, dogs. I mean, maybe we're overthinking this, but it's my own sense of guilt that poor Darby is locked in a crate 8 hours a day. And when I mean locked, I literally mean locked. I came home today to find him padlocked into the crate. The past two days, Jed came home to a nudged latch, and the garbage can dessicated. So Jed started with a little twist tie to "secure" it the door, and when that broke, he resorted to three twist ties. And a padlock for good measure.
So tonight we played ball. We brushed little white tumbleweeds of fir out of his coat. We sat outside for awhile, and then we went on a bike ride... anything to expel some pent-up puppy energy.
But other than that... yeah. I got nothin.
Nothing is going on this weekend. Maybe laundry, cleaning. Snoozeville. I'm hoping my computer will arrive, but not getting my hopes up too much.
I miss the excitement of fun weekend outings. Fun little restaurants and bars, interesting places to go and see. But, really, I don't want to plan these things, and I don't really want to spend time going, to be perfectly honest.... but I miss them.
1 month until our October trip--talk about a bunch of nothing (hopefully in a good way)... Now I just have to stress about how to handle Darbysitting. And then hopefully RELAX in a way I haven't in ages....
Cottage 1 Our own private stretch of beach, and nothing to see around. Sigh...
Cottage 2 Warm bed and 75 acres all ours to explore!
Cottage 3 Right on the river, looks beautiful inside!
I just hope there aren't any bears. There won't be bears, right?
Little Darby will get the point soon. :o) I can just imagine Jed getting annoyed enough to padlock Darby in. Hee!
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way about going out on weekends....would I rather spend the day improving my house and relax at night OR spend the day improving my house and get showered/dressed and go out for a late night? Hm. I think you know what I'd pick!
See you tonight-
