Bread has found it's new home...

Inspired by a perfectly sunny day and an article on thrifting in the Trib, I decided to go treasure hunting at Goodwill. Now usually, I'm on the other side-- dumping my useable, yet unstylish and unwanted items into the willing hands of volunteers, and I always feel a teense bit guilty about imposing the task of making someone else go through it all and decide what's keep-able, but the overwhelming joy of clearing the clutter usually supercedes.

But today.... today... I went to *obtain* things. And what a deal! For $20, I came out with an American Eagle shirt, Gap jeans, Victoria's Secret pj bottoms, and... and.... my new breadbox.
Now wait-- it wasn't always this beautiful. It was actually a pretty unremarkable honey wood color, but I could see it's ugly duckling capabilites. Just a coat of one of my kitchen rejects and voila-- a breadbox worthy of Pottery Barn (did you notice the hand-rubbed antiqued corners?)

Sigh. Productive day...
