Unknowns.

I think everyone, almost, has the desire to do something in their lives that is outstanding, unique, and (most likely) risky, even if they don't know what it is exactly.

At what point do you either quash that desire and accept it (or resent not doing it), rationalize to yourself that you are actually doing it, or just buck up, take the risk-- and jump off the cliff hoping the view will be as beautiful as you had dreamed?

We wanted to live in a different country. I want us to have our own little piece of country, with horses. We want to travel more. Maybe I should open my own business (of what?). I want to work less, be more... something... creative?

You can't have everything you want, they say. And it's probably true. Money, health insurance, cars, a nice bed... these are all things I want.

But how much?

  3. Hi girls-
I think everyone has things they'd like to adopt to make life feel more full. Some jump in 100% knowing and hoping things will just work out (ex: move to the country next month and invest all money in horses), others dip a toe in and live their dream some of the time (buy a country home in the area or get a weekend job at a horse farm), and still others don't do anything (wish for change but stay where they are). I don't think one way is right or wrong...

I agree, Lyss, that going after dreams does come at a cost, no matter how temporary, but sometimes it's worth it.

Also, I think we're getting to the age where people start to look for meaning in life and many find it by having a family--that's a lifechanging & unpredictable path that many follow to find happiness and meaning in their lives. ...but that's also not everyone's dream.
