Thursday through Monday... sun, sand, a tan.... a little bit of family.

It was a nice getaway and so was today-- Monday-- which we both took off to 'recover.' It involved sleeping in, getting Poppy back (yay!) and doing laundry/house stuff... grocery shopping, and a delicious dinner - steak, and green beans and salad from our garden. I love coming to the realization that you don't know what crispy lettuce is until you pick it precisely 30 seconds before you eat it.
Thesis: I love this feeling of relaxation. I haven't thought about work since...oh... precisely 10 seconds after I pulled out of the parking lot last Wednesday. It has been so great.
And on a side note, which is totally worth pointing out, we hung clothes on the line today, and I just wanted to share that one of my most favorite summertime pleasures is the smell of sunshine dried, clean, bleached white sheets. To me, it is part of a quintessential summer...
And also, it's 8:40 and the sun still hasn't set.
Sigh.... back to work tomorrow.
I love summers. And Mondays off.
